the Davidic Covenant

“As God’s pilgrim people, we constantly need to hear the assurance of the gospel. The firmness of the gospel is further solidified by the Davidic covenant. The promise of God was established forever like the moon in the skies (Psalm 89:37). The only way for the Davidic covenant to be broken is for God to lie, which can never happen. God’s promise to David just awaited that Righteous Heir, and Jesus Christ is he!” (133)
